SUCCESS PLANNING

Lesson 1.

HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Regardless of how old you are, where you live, or what your career goals are, it's likely your ultimate goals in life are to be happy and successful. To be successful means more than just having money and making your mark. It means following your passions, living purposefully, and enjoying your life.

Lesson 2.

BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE AND BE AWESOME!

When you feel confident, you are unstoppable and it seems like your path is laid out clearly in front of you. When you lack confidence, however, you can feel afraid, and sometimes all you can see ahead is the possibility of failure.

Lesson 3.

10 STEPS TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

The ability to set clear goals and to make plans for their accomplishment is the ‘master skill’ of success. It is the single most important skill that you can learn and perfect.

Lesson 4.

 CREATE A SUCCESSFUL CAREER PLAN

Career planning is more than just making a decision about a job. It's a process of determining where you are and where you want to be. It’s about developing strategies that support your career and life goals; and it’s about making the most of the opportunities that are available to you throughout your life.

Lesson 5.

 MAKE YOURSELF MEMORABLE

Being the kind of person others remember can be a huge boost to your career. A memorable ‘story about yourself’ is called an ‘elevator speech’ which is a 30 second story you use to tell people who you are, what you can do, and why they should hire you (if you’re looking for a job or apprenticeship).

Finding A Job

Lesson 6.

FINDING A JOB WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE

One of the keys to getting a job without experience is recognising that when you apply for any job or apprenticeship you will be evaluated along two different dimensions: your potential to add value in the future and your track record in the area most central to the job.

  Lesson 7.

FEELING OVERWHELMED AND STRESSED … YOU ARE NOT ALONE

When we feel stressed, our bodies react with what is called the "fight or flight" response. Without the ability to relax, chronic stress or anxiety can lead to burnout, anger, irritability, depression, drugs, medical problems, and more.

 Lesson 8.

 TOP EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS EMPLOYERS WANT

Employability skills are highly valued by employers and are the keys to succeeding in today’s workplace. Learning about the skills contained in this lesson may be the most important thing you can do for yourself to succeed in your career.

  Lesson 9.

GET YOUR MONEY ON TRACK BEFORE YOU START WORK

Managing finances can be tricky for young adults. The good news is you can educate yourself about managing your money. Learning how to manage your finances is an important part of your financial education and will guide you on a path to a healthy financial future.

Resumes & Interviews

Lesson 10.

HOW TO WRITE A RESUME THAT ROCKS

Resumes that rock make you stand out from the crowd. They showcase your talents, skills and personality and tell the employer why you’re the best person for the job!

 Lesson 11.

TOP 10 INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND HOW TO ANSWER THEM

Being interviewed is a skill, but if you do the preparation you should ace it every time. The underlying question in every interview is “why should I hire you?” So every answer to every question must demonstrate why you are the best person for the job.

 Lesson 12.

MAKE A  BRILLIANT IMPRESSION AT THE JOB INTERVIEW

Preparing for an interview is a job in itself! To be successful in any job search, you must sell your skills, abilities and most importantly, yourself! And be well prepared. The more prepared you are, the more confident you’ll be.

  Lesson 13.

NAIL YOUR FIRST 30 DAYS IN THE JOB

Your first 30 days in a new job or apprenticeship are all about being organised. Having a ‘new work plan’ will help you become professional in the shortest amount of time possible, with the least amount of stress as possible.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Lesson 14.

TOP TIPS TO GET ALONG WITH YOUR BOSS

In an ideal world, we would all have fantastic managers - bosses who helped us succeed, who made us feel valued, and who were just all-around great people. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Here are some top tips that can help you get along with your boss.

 Lesson 15.

HOW TO DEAL WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE

Learning to deal with difficult people is an important skill you can learn to ensure you succeed in your career and in life. Here are some strategies to help you handle difficult people.

 Lesson 16.

MANAGING PERSONALITY CONFLICTS AT WORK AND HOME

At some point in our lives, most of us will have to deal with people we just don’t like or can’t seem to get along with. A clash of personalities is most likely at the root of these conflicts.

  Lesson 17.

  DEVELOP YOUR LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Being the kind of person others remember can be a huge boost to your career. And the best way to be memorable is to tell stories. By harnessing the power of stories you will be more persuasive, move people to action, and progress your career. Studies show that we are wired to remember stories much more than data, facts, and figures. In this lesson you’ll learn how to tell stories that advocate your ideas and bring others along with you.

 Lesson 18.
